The church’s mission is to reach out to everyone, everywhere. We support several families who are working to share the gospel with others in a cross-cultural context.
Calvin & Ruth Mathys in Papua New Guinea
The Mathys family work with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea. Once a stalwart of our Youth Group, Calvin is now an aircraft maintenance engineer who works on Wycliffe’s planes and helicopters providing transport and logistics support for Bible translation. Ruth provides training for Papua New Guinean translators.
Jeff & Jane Pelz in America
Jeff and Jane Pelz work for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. Jeff is a staff worker at the College of DuPage who is dedicated to helping international students, refugees, immigrants, and students with disabilities. His role as a Bible study leader, teacher, and evangelist involves training the next generation of students to love and share Jesus. Jane is working with Asia Link to mobilise staff in InterVarsity Christian Fellowship’s partner organizations based in Asia. Jeff and Jane host activities in their home for internationals and encourage Christian students to join them in outreach. Since 1984, they have served university students, including 19 years overseas – 10 of those years in Auckland where they became valued members of our church.
Adam & Ayako Dawson
Church ministry in Japan
Adam and Ayako and their two young children serve in ministry with a Japanese church in Chigasaki, about one hour’s train ride south of Tokyo.
Missionaries in Restricted Countries
We support a missionary couple working in restricted countries.
Mai & Marlene Melota
Mailota and Marlene (Yipaara) are at the heart of the project to translate the Bible into the language of Pukapuka (on the outer islands of the Cook Islands), in association with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They are currently based in Pukapuka along with some of their children.
